Charles Calvin Ting

Last thursday was my record breaking continuous class for 12 hours from 8 am to 7pm. Really restless and nothing can be expresed as it is d end of such routine for this sem and live to tell the tale of my experince that nothing is not possible. Though I first enrolled for the subject, I couldn’t believe what I was thinking. It was surely a long difficult thursdays for the past few months. Thrust me.
Especially when only got few minutes to eat lunch until dinner time at 7pm. Always feeling sleepy with many works to do especially having my chem lab on that day.I had to skip lunch to finish my report coz hav to pass up by 4pm that day. and also got homework for engineering maths and cehmistry to do before hand. Wah really can’t believe that I survive that ordeal.
But the best part is I got to have only afternoon class on every wednesday. can sleep late. Only 3 hours lectures. Really worth it.
C 1st whether to continue with such routine next sem coz I heard that it takes a day for a lab session. Wah really tiring whole day in lab by then. Well live have to go on.
Really feeling more destress after a whole terrible month of April.Everything went wrong including all the test where I screw up and also all the competitions I join seems not to work out although I was a heavy weight in such events. Really feeling Paiseh. Bo bin to hide. Everyone was expecting me to win big I lose out easily. WHat a month.
Now I found my remedy that is to GOD. I just have more conversation with GOD as frequent as possible as my cell group discuss bout it this week. Really feel like got a new best FREN. WEll no best frens like back in high school.
Things was easy  and not complicated like now. Have to grow up from  my comfort  zone. Break free from my egoness of scoring straight As. Now I feel that I have to close the page and start a new one. Life is  challenge in it self each day with all the problem that we face. I feel that I am easily influenced by others because I want to feel that I belong to them. Want to find a new Best frens.
Keep that for next time. what I sould be focussing rite now is to study hard and be the optimistic and be the hard working charles I used to be. Never give up and take every failure in its stride to improve myself.
Not forgetting my trip to cameron high lands. I really thank my sis coz thta trip was really making me feeling better from the terrible month that I had. I really enjoyed tha cold wheather that I used to have back in Kch. Now I go again comparing with Tronoh again. I get rather grumpy these days thanks to the hot weather. At least 33 celcius everyday.
ALso I had done the most terrible thing for my drama by dressing as a hot sexy girl in mei Fang’s short skirt and my tigh shirt. They all say I look like a girl except I ack the boops. I wouldn’t dare to wear any bra. That would be very awful for my life record to continue on……

the whole week seems to be against me

I din get a double promotion for my taekwondo gredding coz I wasn’t at my best. get nervous and did silly mistakes. SO sad ahhh

Sat public speaking competition was another bad day. Had to go to penang all the way. Yet when I’m there, I do not feel like I want to be there. I just lose my interest and son feel like going for it. But at least I get to understnad more bout it and I promise to correct my mistakes. Next year I shall correct it all.

Mon, The chem quiz was tought. The lecturer really get on my nerves. He say test electrochem but he came up with the prevoius chapter. SO I D I E.

and ofcourse I lose the rector cup debate. SO sad. I din prepare for the Iraq topic. Next time I will make all dealing for deciding topics. Thats all I got to say before others come up with their philosophy.

Ohya of course it all started back with my scholars money being suspended. Like no life. No money to buy this or that. Really like pengemis. Never experienced that before. Hve to be more prudent with my spending.

Really bad luck. I just pray so that it will ward off.

Last week durin the beginning of the mid sem break, I went down to KL for some events.
The journey down Ipoh was like a de ja vu coz it is raining cats and dogs like the first time when I follow Wei Shin down Ipoh 4 d CNY. Well, Eddy was really having a good sleep while and Wei shin chat
We arrive in Ipoh at 5.45 pm n went to Gopeng to but ticket. Well, we were unlucky coz the 7pm ticket was sold out. 8 pm will be too late but 6.30 pm rather packed but may be we can manage coz Philip hav to go back to bath, eat, and prepare his bags

So we got to his house at 6pm and he run as fast as possible to do everything in time. I also joined him for dinner. Well his dad sent us to gopeng. Lucky it is just 5 minutes drive away. But bad luck again, traffic was terribly jammed. SO we had to get down on the road opposite in the heavy traffic to walk to gopeng.
Things are just in time for us.

When we arrive, the bus was already finishing letting people out and those leaving for KL are starting to get in to the bus. JUst in time for us to get to our seat.
Few minutes later, the bus starts journey.
The journey was terrible with heavy rain. BUt lucky there weren’t any traffic jam in NS expressway.
WE arrived there 9pm. the traffic wasn’t as heavy as usual. WE walked through Petaling street to pasar seni Putra line Lrt. Well, we reached my aunts house around 9.30pm
WE were hungry, so I thought of bringing philip to the mc d at ampang park. GUess what. At 10pm, we had to wait for a queue to buy food. there were many foreigners. We were really full with the food. RM10 plus for a supper. Usual price in KL. In UTP RM3 very expensive already. Have to feel the real KL life when We go what.

Then We went to KLCC. I kinda lost my way. I took the wrong turnwhile  searching for the P Ramlee road. Barney n me been there once. just walked past. Though we were tired, but Philip sure look happy once there. It was like a heaven for him. We walked up and down the street but didn’t went into any clubs. kuai chai ma

Well, return back around 1am and slept. Next morning, we were suppose to go for the star public speaking workshop at 7.30 am but we woke up at 8.30 am.
WE just brush teeth and didn’t bath or anything else dash for it. Well we arrive at sentral at 9.10 am. Ask the taxi to send us there. The taxi guy oso dun know where. He was chatting on his phone as it was heavily raining outside there. Had to star hq to ask where it was.

Cheh. Just as the tun sambathan stop of monorail. wasted time and money. managed to get there by 9.30 am. had to climb 3 floors of stairs to get to the hall. Registered ourself and things just get started. Just in time again.

Next was when it ends. We were suppose to go and watch Nicol playing in the fianl at 4pm. and the workshop ends at 4pm too. aiya. Too bad jesse can’t join us as the show was astounding. marvellous malaysian player.

When we got there, she was behind with 0-6. She sllowly climbed up but lose at 6-9. Then she won 9-6, 9-3, but lose 7-9 we were in a rush to go to the Eye of malaysia at titiwangsa park so had to leave at that time. WEll really relief to hear she won in the make or break round. She really can run very fast. Good stamina. Most important she got a good attitude and behaviour. She almost never shout against the decision of the judge compared to Natalie who was always angry. Final round was really tiring her that she also starts to shout in order to release her burden and stress build up sue to tiredness. WIll always remember it.

Next we got back and start to prepare to go to the lake. Jason poan picked us and brought us to a chinese shop to eat. Quite nice claypot rice. THen we met up with the rest of the friends at the lake. Chin Leong, raymond, han zhe, philip and me rode the ferris wheel. VEry big and tall up there. It turned for 6 rounds. at a high price of RM15 per person. It was a German company technology. Really educational to know that its runs on the principle of rotation of a car tyre. Actually it was the same. Got many tyres and the got a high fiction surface of tar road. Rather shocking to see that one of the tyre is running out of its grip. almost broken already. BUt We had some nice time looking at the view of the lake. Got water show by germans at night. WEll luckily we queue early coz huisan, barney, ranae and sim later had to queue from outside of the hut that we queue. from inside already took 1 hour what more to say bout them!

Well this time we ask the rest to go p ramlee road too. Everyone was too happy that they decided that they must sit down to drink if not they can never say they been there before. Well, money was tight on everyones wallet coz thanks to bcb for upgrading their service that all atm is not functioning. They ordered a jug of beer. I just had 2 sip from philip’s one. WEll he was too high that he just gullop it down like water. really fast. soon, the effect start to kick out. some got red face, a bit of losing their mind. talking nonsence and laughing to themselve. Lucky I didn’t really drink anything much. But raymond order a bottle of water with added co2 gas for 16 bucks.everyone was making a joke of him. Well at such place sure expensive one la.

Then we walked back to KLCC and went in though it was already closed. Look at the bright night. then walked to mc d to have an ice cream. Next day was really relaxing. we woke up late. My anuts and uncle cooked us a western breakfast. Then we went to the pool for a swim. really feel the luxury of life. then we start to pack up.

I decided to follow the rest coz they were heading to utp straight. I didn’t went with philip. I went with them to low yat and time square again. what a life.

well it ended up that I couldn’t buy a ticket like theirs. SO I just took a bus straight away to Ipoh. the journey was really fast. in just 2 and half hour. I got a taxi to bring me to medan kit and took a bus back to utp.

For the past few days was really taxing on me. Got two test on Friday -physics and chemistry
Wah the test really difficult. I din finish all the questions. For physics I can’t think of the connection of the question and the things I had learned but for chemistry I can’t remember the formula for freezing depression. What to do??? Lose a lot of mark for leaving empty answer sheet…
I also can’t finish reading the my notes for ICIS test. More than 15 questions I can do out of 40. Really bad this time. I guess I will still remain the worst Chinese student for EE course.
My mind can’t cram everything up last minutes like chang hua and the rest. I only remember for repetitive actions. In this case I need frequent studying.
Well it was back to the previous sem sleeping hour at 3am and wake up at 7am and just may be half an hour nap in between
I will always remember bout thursday coz got 11hours non stop marathon of class from 8am to 7pm. 4labs and tutorials and 3 hours lectures add up to the total 11 hours. Last week was really freaking crazy. There was really no break at all. I was running from one class to another.
Doing the physics lab report was really difficult as well as I wrote 46 pages for my report and finish a new pen in the process. Well I will surely need more pens if there is more report to go.
Luckily I didn’t take up any club activity for organising activities this sem except for my taekwondo class. More time to myself. Well, I was actually reserving it to organise a new leo club here. I just emailed all the lions club in Ipoh to ask whether any of them are interested to sponsor our club.
There will be a lot of things to do once when th club come to existence considering the previous experience I had.
Well, I intend to participate in the Rector cup debate on the end of the month. I had Adonis, Chang hua and Yoke Mun for my EE team. Hopefully there will be time for us to practice for the competition.

    During the CNY in Kch, I went for a hair cut which eventually changed my look. Maybe by fifty percent. Ever since I got back to uni every one has been staring at me. It takes about a few second for them to recognise me. I guess it was quite sometime for Wei shin to recognise me when he picked me at Gopeng.
    Well, I’m not sure is that a good sign or not. I had this stare from most of my friends. Everyone forgot about me. I remember that the other day I went to get the debate dvd from melissa in v4 cafe. She was sitting with her friends. When I walked closser, almost all of her friends turn back to look at me. Wa lau what the…… I look like a new kid from the block is it????
    Well, I’m used to the stare now. I think everyone also became used to my new look. Actually this is how I looked like back in Kch. I usually had short hair. Get ready for the next shock when I got bald..
    Still considering it because since the wheater is hot and humid it is best not to have hair because always sweat and have to clean it.

    Its already Chap Goh Mei to night. Fifteen days had passed since the first day of CNY. Really going to miss it a lot. I went back to Kch for CNY. Though only for four days, I felt worth it because it is the only time when met all my friends who were in Labuan and my teachers and ofcourse my family members. No words can describe the moments. The grass is always pasture in the opposite land but the land that one belongs will always be at heart no matter where ones is. That is what it felt like.
    The  spirit of celebrating CNY can be felt even at the KLIA. My flight was at 4.30am on sat morning. But guess what? The flight was fully packed. Most of the people on board are my fellow kuchingite who are studying in peninsular and going back for the CNY. The feeling of seeing my fellow kuchingites can’t be described. That is the only time when people will converse in hokkien. It feel like I’m at home. Felt like where I belong to and where I would like to be.
    The wheather in Kch was cooler and as predicted it rains during CNY. Even at this moment the wheather in Kch is said to be rainy. It rained on the Sa Chap Mei until 11pm. Then the rain stops just in time for kuchingite to lit their fire crackers. It seems the sky understand that there are thousands of people went back just to get another nostalgic picture of what it is when CNY come. The sky was fully lit with beautiful and colourful fireworks. The joy of seeing the fireworks flew into the sky and then suddently abrupt into a beautiful fire works is the what it is like. Words of amazement just came after another upon seeing the beauty of it.
    This year, I was much busy attending to my nephews of my cousins. I was carrying them and telling them don’t be afraid because they are only around one to three years old. Hamburger or Calvin wasn’t afraid as his older brother. He was enjoying watching the beautiful fireworks. He likes to watch the fire crackers lit. Anyway, I managed to drove in Kch at that nite when I went out and the night was misty that I could hardly see anything at all. See the picture below to see for yourself=====
    During that night, my whole family had a sumptous dinner. Fish, veg, pork leg, oyster, prawns,…. All delicious dinner. Really enjoyed it a lot. Its been quite sometime since I ever ate so much. Guess what I managed to cut my weight by seven kg for a month. Well, I gained by one kg for each day that I went back. Now willl take time to reduce it again.
    On the second day I went to my ex tution teachers house namely Mr. Chan and Mr. Chin who were ex students of my high school. The EX Sg. Tapangs. Mr. Chan’s  house was full with people so we went to Mdm Annie’s house then went back again. Choon Hian, Julie, Dennis, Tien Iou, Yung Khien and me were there. Then Cindy also joined us. We were feated to a sumptous lunch. Very full. Ke lian Tien Iou coz finally can eat after waiting for the whole day.
    Then we went to Mr Chin’s house together. Had a nice chat with him and the form six frens were reminded to buck up coz the test is very difficult. Well wish them Good luck. Gambateh!!!! Tien Iou sure can do it. Pelajar Cemerlang WOoooooo. Wah must be very very grand lo. And ofcourse thumbs up to yung khien for being the new head prefect. Work hard k. The previous hard time we went through. Felt very funny when remeniscent back on the daily arguments that we had. Well it is already a past and we became rather good friends after that. Well, its time to pass on the baton to you to lead after all this time. And all the frens who are now prefects with high ranking good luck too. U need the cert just to apply for uni then it will be history.
    Then, on third day, we all went for visitting. At Shi Chien’s house there was a battle going on. We were playing the block game. Aiya forgot what is the name of the game. Anyway, it was a heart throbing game. It was a battle of who is going to make it fall. Anyway, round one was me who lose. Then the second round saw jun you losing. He had to drank the water. We all tried to make choon hian lose but he managed to break through. Below are the pictures. Nee ping had to becareful because she had lost before in another game and Zheng loong had to drink for her. If she lose he will have to drink again. Wahhh so loving couple. Anyway good luck in ur matrix in Labuan. Next time but tax free imported chocolate and wine for me k. Though I don’t really drink but it is ok.
     Ohya, good luck to Jacky, and Chee Ya coz managed to finish all the hurdles and studying for degree. It was rather a shock to know that only forty people out of more than one hundred managed to continue for degree. Though I didn’t help much by writing for ur assignment. And winnie too. Now I understood why u both really thank me for that. Well good luck to winnie though u hav to repeat a subject. Ps tell me if chiang long need help. I will surely help if I can.
    On the fourth day was a hectic day. I was busy rushing around the bank, office department and other places before my flight at 12 noon. I mistook it to be 12.15pm that when I arrived, it was already the last calling. Just in time. I managed to buy kolo mee, mee sapi, kam pua and sarawak laksa for my friends in uni. Well, only kam pua and kolo mee left coz the rest can’t last so yeek cho wei shin’s family. Next time I will but more kolo mee for ur younger bro since he like it. And oso my fellow uni frens. Sorry Yoke mun and the rest coz the kolo mee kinda went bad. Coz my mom bought it around 10 am and you guys only ate it around 10pm plus. Come Kch and U will taste it. K for those comin Kch for the semester break I promise u guys to enjoy as many kch food as possible and bring u guys to all the fun places.

I decided to change my new CNY resolution after much considerasation
Firstly, I will only tell my stories after sth have happen coz always sth goes wrong if I tell the whole world thanks to friendster blog
Next I will be doing much more activities which will be kept as a secret until I become successful
what more a
aiya many people came to my room and read my new resolution le. Notfun anymore coz they will say wa u got so high ambitions
that why I say must keep it a secret until I finish my goal
Next must try keep a low profile
so not much trouble from all parties
next, I will only try 2 b emcee for some event as very troublesome to b committee

Well I don c that around here so might as well get sth easier to do.
Sadly, my English is not up to the standard.

well I will only be able to imitate a native speaker but not until a perfect standard
Eversince at this current uni,
I speak less english so my english is deteriorating day by day which will rot the inner sense of my esssential foundation. Too much chinese
Prefer Swinburne with all English family background that speak proper and correct grammar compared to here.
But people here must be acknowledged for their bravery to speak although it is wrong. I will surely be too embarassed to do so in front of more than 800 audiences. But then again, they will not be so embarassed after all because the audience also don’t know that the speaker is actually speaking MANGLISH
so sad for their always mundane idiom that they know "well rounded" individual

time for something new than that old house of thought 

I feel very happy
last night as I was watching the finals of The Amazing Race Asia when the
Malaysian team won. I was really a fan of Amazing Race as I like the thrill and
the new culture shock that people experinced when they go to a foreign country
as it is interesting to know what do locals do. From the food that they had to
eat to the handicraft as well as the tradition that was kept alive since
forefather’s days was interesting to see.
    Anyway, I was really surprised to see that Jo Jer and
Zabrina were leading especially when they hired a taxi driver to lead to Mount Santubong.
     Being a Kuchingite, I too fell that it is impossible to find their own way if
they were to go to santubong from the riverside as there are many small roads
that may take them for a road tour instead. This is the reason why the other
Malaysian team of Tan and Shoer got lost in Kuching city and try their best to
find their way. This mistake cost them their win as they are the first team to
finish the task of building a chair at the Indian Street
at riverside.

    Well, there way a short picture of this Mount Santubong
which actually looks likes the head of a lady lying flat on the ground. This
picture will be mesmerising if they were to show the picture of the whole
mountain range which is really like the leg and body and head of a lady lying
down. The myth is Princess Santubong and Princess Sejinjang fought for a mortal
called serapi which cause the God to get angry and curse them to become
mountains separated from each others. That is why in Kuching we have

Mount Santubong,
Sejinjang and Serapi. And there is a local song which tells the folklore. The
song is "Puteri Santubong dan Puteri Sejinjang."

    There should be more task given at the Sarawak Cultural
Village as this is only living museum in the Asia or even the World as visitors
can get a real life experince to feel the the art of making handicraft and food
as well as the famous local cloth call Pua Kumbu. And they should join in the
performance of traditional dance of

Sarawak ethnics.
    It would even be more merrier if it is between july 13-15
as there will be the World Rainforest Music Festival as the museum will invite
native tribes throughout the world to come and perform their traditional dance,
show their  music equipment and others. There will surely be a lot of
activities to do at that time. There surely will be more than the blow pipe to
showcase in Sarawak.

    Well as expected, they went to camp permai where
there is the track for activities such as the flying fox and walking on the
rope bridge and others which is pretty scary for those who fear of height.

    Well, I didn’t expect it to end at the Bako National Park
easily as there could be activity where they can climb over the hill or
mountain to the other side of the beach which is really beautiful with almost
nobody around. There are many monkeys and ofcourse the wildboar roaming freely
at the

Bako National Park. Monkeys are good at stealing food from the room when it is left
unlock or the window is not lock. Trust me, I experinced it before!

   Anyway, congratulation to all the team especially the Malaysian
team for winning and become the first female team to win the Amazing Race ever!

Just to inform everyone else that I’m goig back for this CNY. I know that many of my Labuan Friends will back too so hope they all go back safe in sound. Well, I’m going back in the early morning-4.30am on  17 feb from KL. And I will be leaving on the afternoon of 21 Feb. Hopefully can catch up with old friends and have a nice chatting sessions after not seeing each other for the past year. Everyone surely went a different path and I doubt that there will be another chance of doing so. But before going back I got some minor test going on. Keep my finger cross that I will be enthusiastic to celebrate after that. So catch with me when Back in Kuching K……
C u all  in more than two weeks time. Really counting the days for such reunion to happen finally.

On the day to the Tempurung cave, WE stop by at the kellie’s castle. It  was a rather old castle with its structure falling appart. But it was a very frantic photo taking session as we all try to take photo at every single corner and every single place that we walked to with diffrent kinds of pose and style. Really fun one coz Mei fang and her photo taking style was really fun. She always raise up her hands when takign photo. Got a photo of mine here.
