New challenge
This semester is really going to be totally different from the last sem coz there are many upgrade. UTP wants to get the International accreditation so that the students can easily get jobs worldwide in the fututre since not may opportunity in Malaysia.
Well the problem is the uni embarked on a new mission eversince bout 20% of last sem seniors can’t get job from petronas. There is the new online portfolio called eportfolio where we have to write daily encounter and understanding of each subject. It will be kept in our own personalised file until we graduate so that the prospective employers can see what we we had leant and know more bout us. Walau eh, got 5 subject this sem then die la.
Oso got the new elearning blackboard learning systems where we can blog and write more and discuss with other students. So, less blogging in friendster coz got new place.
And the lecturers for this sem ngok kwai. So fierce man!! Gave questions for 1st class and ask to pass up in more than 5 minutes. And many peple will be kicked of the lecture class once they are in the 101 list and above coz only can have 100 person in a lecture. Everyone else will be given a different lecturer and share with other courses. Groups are assigned by the lecturer. Got to do more test, quiz, assignments coz now final exam only 40 marks. The rest will add up to 60.
Outcome based education where we get hands on experinces by doing a lot of works daily and the lecturer will access us more frequently. Die la. Everyday access then have to study everyting everyday nonstop.
Well, a thumbs up for UTP coz finally follow US style of revolutionary education. These changes are really a lot to handle. But they still keep onto the Britsh style of education by imposting mandatory dresscode where everyone don’t like. Just wish to wear more fashionable t shirt than those working adults. really troublesome.
